Lt. Colonel Dr. Mohammad Tarequl Islam is a distinguished General and Laparoscopic Surgeon in Bangladesh, recognized for his surgical precision, professional excellence, and patient-centered care. He completed his MBBS in 2009 from Sir Salimullah Medical College & Mitford Hospital, Dhaka, and began his medical career serving in the Bangladesh Army.

In recognition of his outstanding medical service, he was honored with the Army Medal of Glory (Shena Gourab Padak – SGP). He achieved advanced surgical qualifications including MCPS (Surgery) in 2019 and FCPS (Surgery) in 2020 from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). Further strengthening his international professional standing, he obtained the prestigious Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons (FACS, USA) in 2025.

With more than 10 years of surgical experience, Lt. Colonel Dr. Islam currently serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery at Navy Medical College, Chattogram, and works as a Consultant Surgeon at Navy Hospital.

He is highly regarded for his expertise in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery, colorectal procedures, hernia repair, and breast surgery.
