Prof. Dr. Jhunu Shamsun Nahar is a highly experienced Psychiatrist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental health disorders. She holds the qualifications MBBS and FCPS (Psychiatry).

She is a Former Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU), where she contributed extensively to psychiatric care, medical education, and mental health development.
