Dr. Shirin Jahan

Dr. Shirin Jahan is a very good and genuine doctor. We were satisfied with her treatment, which is why we became repeat patients. Unfortunately, the experience with her compounder, Ripon, has been very unpleasant. He frequently hangs up calls and communicates in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. For context, we first visited on December 25 and followed up on February 26 for the same ongoing issue. On our next follow-up in March, Ripon refused the repeat-patient consideration and said that even if we visited a thousand times, if the visit is more than 30 days apart we must pay the full fee or “find someone else.” To be clear, paying the full fee like a new patient is not an issue for me. The problem is the constant undermining of patients and the disrespectful way of communicating. When I tried to explain that these are long-term follow-ups (and in women’s health the timing can depend on the menstrual cycle, plus Ramadan caused a small delay), he simply hung up mid-conversation. Because of this repeated behavior, we decided to move on. A good doctor also needs a good compounder, since patients’ primary point of contact is usually the assistant. I hope the doctor considers having someone more patient and respectful in that role.
