Professor Dr. Arupratan Choudhury

Professor Dr. Arupratan Choudhury is a distinguished dental professional, academic, and public health advocate with more than 40 years of professional experience in dentistry, oral healthcare, dental education, tobacco control, and substance-abuse prevention. He holds BDS, PhD, and FDSRCS (England) qualifications and currently serves as an Hon. Senior Consultant in the Department of Dentistry at BIRDEM Hospital. He is also a Professor of Dentistry and Co-ordinator of the Dental Unit at Ibrahim Medical College, reflecting his extensive contribution to clinical practice, dental education, and academic development.

Dr. Choudhury has made significant contributions to dentistry, oral health awareness, tobacco control, and prevention of drug abuse. He has been honored with prestigious recognitions including the National Award “Ekushey Padak” and the WHO Tobacco or Health Medal. He is the Founder President of MANAS (Association for the Prevention of Drug Abuse) and has served as a Member of the National Drug Control Board and the National Tobacco Control Task Force. With his extensive clinical and academic experience, he is committed to promoting comprehensive oral healthcare and improving public awareness of oral and general health.
