Prof. Dr. B.A.K Azad

Prof. Dr. B.A.K Azad is one of the most renowned Dentists and Prosthodontics Specialists in Bangladesh, with decades of experience in clinical dentistry, academic leadership, and public health administration.

He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Dhaka Dental College in 1984, followed by a Diploma in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Dhaka in 1988. He later achieved MCPS from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons and earned his MDS (Prosthetic Dentistry) from the University of London in 1998. He is also a Fellow of the International College of Prosthodontists (FICP), USA, reflecting international recognition in advanced dental care.

Prof. Dr. B.A.K Azad began his professional career by joining the Bangladesh Civil Service (Health Cadre) in 1985 and has since held several prestigious positions. He served as Professor & Head of Orthodontics at Dhaka Dental College & Hospital, where he contributed significantly to dental education and patient care.

He has also served as:

• Principal of Dhaka Dental College, the only government dental college in Bangladesh

• Director (Dental) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

• Postgraduate Trainee at Eastman Dental Hospital, London, UK

Currently, he is serving as a Focal Point (Consultant) at the World Health Organization (WHO), contributing to public health and dental care initiatives.
