Dr. Md. Azharul Islam

Dr. Md. Azharul Islam is a highly experienced Anesthesiologist with an extensive professional background in both Bangladesh and international healthcare settings.

He completed his MBBS in 1984 from Mymensingh and later obtained his FCPS in Anaesthesia in 1994, establishing a strong foundation in anesthesiology.

Dr. Azharul Islam has served in the Department of Anaesthesia at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Bangladesh Medical College, holding various positions ranging from Assistant Professor to Consultant. His career also includes international experience as a Specialist at Jeddah Maternity & Children Hospital under the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia—a 300-bed tertiary care center.

Before joining Apollo Hospitals Dhaka, he worked as a Consultant in Cardiac and General Anaesthesia in the private sector since November 2006, gaining significant expertise in managing complex anesthesia cases.

With decades of experience, Dr. Azharul Islam is recognized for his contributions to anesthesia care, particularly in cardiac and general anesthesiology.
